This is why we need responsible brands

‘The system’. If we could reinvent it, it would look radically different. We would skip fossil energy, people of color would immediately be invited to the table, and we wouldn’t accept a small group of people getting a lot of profit. We can’t go back, but we can change things. And we have no time to lose.

Because whether you agree or not, a transition to thinking radically different is already in motion. So you shouldn’t wonder if but rather when you’ll adapt. Because we’re running out of raw materials. And the call for alternatives will only become louder. Luckily, these options are growing.

Because at Multitude we’ve shown for over 10 years things could be different. A foodchain in which everybody earns the price they deserve. A phone that is solely made with ethically obtained materials. Traveling while keeping respect for nature. A society in which your womb or skin color has no effect on the choices you can make. In which your digital rights are being taken seriously. In which we don’t just see white men in the museum. In which your education is preparing you for the world of tomorrow, not yesterday. We’ve been working for more than 10 years with intrinsically motivated organizations that are working on a new economy, built on new values. And in that new economy money isn’t the end goal, it’s just a resource.

Easier said than done, of course. Because how do you relate to the old economy? And what does that transition look like? A new economy doesn’t simply arise, we have to shape it ourselves. That’s why we believe it’s important to use our talent and knowledge about branding solely for ethical organizations. For the organizations that dare to speak out. Because with the right branding you can steal hearts, attract attention and convince any target audience.
